Berkley Public Schools is proud to announce that Grade 8 student Elin Mauricio has been named Project 351 Ambassador for the 2024-2025 school year. Elin was nominated by her teachers and school administration to represent her school and town based on her exceptional leadership qualities.
Project 351 is a nonprofit youth leadership organization in Massachusetts that engages and empowers eighth-grade students from all 351 cities and towns in the state. It was founded in 2011 when former Governor Deval Patrick sought to celebrate his second inaugural, focusing on young people and the community. The program is designed to cultivate a new generation of community leaders by fostering civic engagement, service, and leadership skills. Project 351 honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by convening the 351 grade 8 ambassadors in January for Launch Day, which kicks off their year of service.
